What is Relay?

Male and female, young and young at heart; anyone can take part! Made up of 8-15 friends, family members and colleagues, teams will take turns to walk around the track for the duration of Relay. more info

Anyone who has ever heard the words “you have cancer” is invited to be one of our Guests of Honour. more info

Teams are formed, fundraising events take place, fancy dress costumes are made… Are you ready to Relay?!

On The Day

Opening Ceremony

Every Relay For Life begins with the inspiring Survivors’ Lap of Honour. Cancer survivors walk the first lap, cheered and supported by the community. Teams are then introduced to show their fancy dress costumes and cancer awareness banners.

 

Entertainment

Live bands, it’s a knockout competition, games, food, fundraising and maybe a few surprises.

Cancer Awareness Themed Laps

Preventing cancer by spreading messages and advice in some interesting ways. more info

Candle of Hope

As the evening draws in, everyone gathers to light Candles of Hope and pay tribute to those whose lives have been affected by cancer. more info

Closing Ceremony

At the end of the Relay, everyone joins together for a final lap to celebrate their fundraising achievements and look back on an unforgettable Relay For Life.

After Party

After a few months of counting all the pennies, we come together again, celebrating the amazing Relay For Life and announcing the incredible sum of money you have all raised.
